Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre

Immigration/Travel Visa
All visitors are required to go through immigration clearance on arrival into Singapore. Visitors must satisfy the following basic entry requirements before they are allowed to enter Singapore:

  • A valid passport with at least 6 months validity;
  • Valid Singapore visa, if applicable;
  • Sufficient funds to stay in Singapore;
  • Confirmed onward/return tickets
  • Entry facilities to their onward destinations, e.g. visas

Airport
The Singapore Changi Airport has four terminals, Terminal 1, 2 and 3, and the Budget Terminal. Transport to the city is available by MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), Airport Shuttle, public bus or taxi. Travel time to the city is approximately 30 minutes.

Travelling around Singapore is a cinch! Shopping/Attractions

A good number of department stores and some smaller shops are open daily from 1000 hrs to about 2100 hrs, or even 2200 hrs. Singapore is one of the few countries in the world where it is reasonably safe out in the streets even late at night. As long as basic precautions are taken, you can shop in peace.

Language
There are four official languages in Singapore: English, Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Most Singaporeans are bilingual, and speak their mother tongue (dialects) as well as English.

Weather/Time Zone
Singapore is located 1 degree north of the equator, thus enjoying a warm tropical weather with occasional rain throughout the year. Temperatures are often around 28 °C. The wettest months are experienced during the Northeast Monsoon season from November to January. Conversely, July and August are the hottest months.

Singapore is eight hours ahead of the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

Electricity/Water
Electricity used in Singapore is 220 to 240 volts AC, 50Hz. On request, most hotels can provide transformers/adapters to guests.

Water from the tap is safe for drinking in Singapore. Bottled and mineral water are also readily available in supermarkets or convenience stores located island wide.

Currency/Currency Exchange
The local currency is the Singapore dollar and cents. Foreign currencies can be changed either in banks or with a moneychanger conveniently located island wide.

Credit Cards
Major credit and charge cards such as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners, are widely accepted at most establishments.

International Calls and Mobile Communication
The international country code for Singapore is 65. There are two mobile phone networks – GSM 900 and GSM 1800. To make international calls from Singapore, dial 001.
